beliefs "We believe . . ."

Any person who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal savior is a Christian. Believing that Jesus Christ is the son of God, born of the virgin Mary, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. He was sent by God to save people from their sins.

KetchikanWe know and understand that the bible is the written word of God. Inspired by God, it is authoritative and without error in it’s original works, and constitutes the infallible revelation of God to man. The bible is necessary for gaining knowledge of Christian life skills so that the man of God may be equipped for every good work.

We believe in the infilling of the Holy Spirit. The bible declares,  “Be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Ephesians 5: 18   The Holy Spirit works in a believer’s life as a person who is a part of the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit reveals, teaches, brings witness, intercedes, communicates, He is eternal. We believe He is the Spirit of comfort, promise, truth, grace, life and holiness to the believer.

We believe it is important for believers to gather together often. Hebrews 10:24-25 states, “ And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together  as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” NIV.

We believe that Jesus calls His people to go to all people of all nations and teach them how to know Him and live for Him. It is our responsibility to reveal the love of Christ to the unsaved world. Matthew 28:19 –20 states: “ Go therefore and make disciples of the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo I am with always, even to the end of the age.”
